Quilts from the Bluffs - February 2016

Quilts from the Bluffs will be meeting this Saturday, February 13, from 9:30-3:30.  We meet at First Christian Church in Council Bluffs in room C4 on the lower level.

This month we will be finishing up Charmed for Charity quilts from the quilt marathon in January and from tops that have been dropped off at Cut Up & Quilt.  We have around 50 ready to pin/quilt and several that need binding.  I would love it if everyone could help pin, quilt or bind it at all possible.  Bring your machine appropriate for these tasks and a walking foot if you have one.  We will gladly train you if you have not had the chance to finish a quilt.

We are trying to finish as many as possible before the February 27th Project Linus Day.  This is held at Bryan High School in Bellevue from 9:00-1:00 if you are interested in going. Let me know if you would like more information.

Quilt Marathon

We had a great quilt marathon in January.  21 attended on Friday evening and 36 attended on Saturday.  We completed 30 quilts with several more in progress.  Thanks to everyone who helped plan and prepare for this event.  Looks like we will try it again next January!

Check out our blog or our Facebook page for more pictures.

Charmed for Charity Group

Quilts from the Bluffs sponsors a Charmed for Charity group at Cut Up & Quilt quilt shop in Council Bluffs.  They meet on the third Wednesday of each month from 1:00-3:00.  You can work on cutting scrap fabric into 5" squares, put quilt kits together consisting of 99 squares, or bring your machine and sew a quilt top.

If you have any questions about this group, please email.  We love to have new quilters join us  It is a great group and a great cause.  See you Saturday!
