Thank You Note to Share

I admit I do not check the mail received at the church for the quilt ministry so this thank you is a few months old.  However, I did want to pass it on because I think it is so nice to get an occasional pat on the back for the awesome things we are doing and the lives that are being touched.

Thank You Note

2011 Quilt Retreat

The quilt retreat was a really good time this year.  We had 24 attend so the size was still very manageable.  The food was awesome (as usual) and the quilts that were created were so fun to see.

What I love about this retreat is all the indivdual ideas and unique view of quilting.

Some like to do hand work...applique, hand piecing, hand quilting.

Some like to go fast (Jelly Roll Race) and getter done!

Some like a little competition...Go Hawkeyes!

Some just can't be held to direction or anything else that may block total creativity!

 Some see circles...

And some just love to cut itty bitty squares and strips for hours and hours...

We ALL love to eat and Penni is the BEST cook!

I will add more photos another day.  Need to get moving on some other items on my to do list.

Two More for Project Linus-Baby Quilts

I finished quilting two more baby quilts to be delivered to Project Linus October 1.

October Quilt Day - Mark Your Calendar

Quilts from the Bluffs will be meeting on October 15 this month.  We had to reschedule from our normal second Saturday because the church was not available.

We are going to attempt to make some Tumbling Block quilts.  I say that because the blocks are being cut using my GO cutter and it takes a lot of blocks per quilt. We have several other kits made of of various quilts to make as well as many quilts to finish.

The quilts were delivered to Mercy Hospital yesterday.  They were excited to receive 31 quilts.

I have made a connection with Children's Square and we will be working on making twin size quilts for them.  More to come on that.

Mercy Hospital, Council Bluffs

I am catching up with quilt deliveries.  We now have 31 quilts ready to go to Mercy Hospital (hopefully today) in addition to the 48 going to Project Linus.
