Quilt Day Reminder - October, 2011

Quilts from the Bluffs will be meeting this Saturday, October 15, at First Christian Church in Council Bluffs.  Please come as it fits your schedule between 10:00am and 4:00pm.  If you have any questions about the group, please email or call me.

This month we will be working on "Charmed for Charity" quilts from charm squares gathered at the quilt retreat as well as other scrap squares on hand.  I will also be bring a stack of smaller quilts that I would like to have quilted by someone.  These quilts should be easy to quilt with your sewing machine or if you prefer to tie the quilts, that is a viable option.  If you would like to learn how to finish quilts, please let me know.  I would love to walk you through the process.

If you went to the quilt retreat and still have one of the name tag holders, please bring it with you so we can return them to be used again.

And speaking of the retreat

..what a great time we had!!  If you didn't get to go this year, you will want to plan for next year.  We have the camp booked for September 20-23 so mark your calendars.  We will begin to accept registrations around next April.

If you haven't had a chance to see pictures from the retreat, you can find them on our blog and our facebook page.
Quilt Deliveries

  • I made a delivery to Mercy Hospital of 31 quilts last month.
  •  Several members of the group attended Project Linus blanket day on October 1 to help with sewing labels and making tops.  Quilts from the Bluffs donated a total of 59 quilts.

Happy Anniversary!

Quilts from the Bluffs began five years ago this month.  I am amazed at the growth of this group, both in number of quilters and the number of quilts we have given.  How many quilts have we given away you ask?  It is getting very close to 1,200 quilts!!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

See you Saturday!
