Our Quilt Recipients

I wanted to take some time to talk about who gets our quilts.

Mercy Hospital Critical Care  - The nurses at Mercy were trying to make tied fleece blankets for awhile and just couldn't keep up with the amount or the expense.  Fortunately, we were contacted to help out and have been giving quilts to them for the past 2-3 years.  These quilts really help to make the patients room more comfortable for the patient and family once the patient goes to the hospice stage.

Project Linus - This is a national organization with chapters in every state and most major cities.  Ginny DeBates is the coordinator for the Omaha/Council Bluffs chapter.  Project Linus has a network of organizations that have a need for quilts that include:
  • Creighton Neonatal  Intensive Care Unit
  • Offutt Air Force Base
  • American Red Cross
  • Bergen Mercy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • Kids and Co.
  • Bergen Mercy Hospital
  • Mercy Hospital
  • Foster Care Review Board
  • University Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • University Hospital
  • Sudanese Relief Organization
  • Masonic Eastern Star Home for Children
  • Jefferson House
  • Heartland Family Services
  • Boys Town
  • Blair Community Hospital
  • Area Funeral Homes
  • Area School Counselors
Gabrielle's Corner - Crisis Pregnancy Center in Council Bluffs

These three are our organizations where we focus most out attention.  We have also given quilts to Japan after the earthquake, Wings of Hope, Mohm's Place, and others.
