About Quilts from the Bluffs

Quilts from the Bluffs is a quilt ministry associated with First Christian Church of Council Bluffs, IA.  We started in October,2006 so we will be celebrating five years this October.

The group is made up of women across the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.  You do not need to be a member of FCC to attend.  We meet the second Saturday of each month at the church from 10:00-4:00.

Our quilts are given to organizations in the community that would benefit from a handmade quilt to bring comfort to them.  These organizations include Project Linus, Mercy Hospital Critical Care in Council Bluffs, Gabrielle's Corner crisis pregnancy center, and Quilts of Valor to name a few.  We currently donate approximately 300 quilts a year.

We welcome new quilters and we accept any skill level from "I want to learn" to "I'm experienced and would love to share/help others".  All patterns and fabric are supplied.  You just show up with your sewing machine and we will get you working.

We also have a FaceBook page if you want to join in on the discussions there.

Mission Statement:Quilts from the Bluffs is a ministry of First Christian Church of Council Bluffs, Iowa, designed to show love and support to sick, traumatized, or otherwise hurting individuals in the area with a gift of a new, handmade quilt created by volunteer quilters. We also teach and encourage the art of quilting to interested individuals in the community free of charge.
